Absolutely sensational, I've got my drum pad out practising 🎉😁
Isn’t it great to hear pleasant music again. 😊
Great playing .Love this .Listen often .Thanks .
Track 8 superb😂 28:52
Very good album. Play a couple of songs from this album in my car sometimes.
Tune at 42.50 is part of Beer Barrel polka, sometimes called Roll out the Barrel. Cheers Frank in Bristol.
great band
I have this on vynyl it was my late fathers who sadly passed 32 years ago and it makes me think of him himself as was a player himself and just loved to hear and play whenever he could ❤
Any idea of the tune at 42.50, please? Thanks!
Track list should show on video shortly.
@@Avino255 thank you. You've a great selection of music here.
Thanks. youtube seems slow today to change the thumbnail@@madfortrad90
@@Avino255 No worries!
Yes,Avino......Colin Dewar....at times I tend to say to myself......"The Very Best Of The SDB's ever!!!!!" As an example referring to Colin's OB (Outside Broadcast) on Take Th Floor d.d round1996(btw..you know Robbie died past first of August at 87 which means a great loss to me,I had during 12years great contacts with him, mainly with regard to comments on the SDB's) That broadcast 's been recorded on CD being part of their series"Special Requests".It's in my collection.(once ordered from William Crawford of HRM,familiar to you) Here is another great posting of the Colin Dewar Band...yes..on youTube by the name of "The Highland Rambler".Please go there and enjoy the greatest reels ever composed.Notably the 2nd last of the four!!!!! Sadly...no origin or composer stated.Great shame. And another youTube posting of them is "Sutters Of Selkirk"in which they play the Irish Reel "More Power To Your Elbows"Another cracker. Hope you will enjoy all this and greetings from the DHHF again( Dutch Hawker Hunter Foundation)
There will never be anyone as good as this man god rest you dermot
There will never be any as good as this man God rest you dermot
Jimmy at his besst where would where would you get it rip 2:28
What is the title of the pipe march beginning at 25:50 , ending at 27:07? Anyone knows?
Great music from John Ellis.
Dyfuyo
The late Dermot o Brien told me Jimmy was about to appear on his TV show in ireland and Dermot asked Jimmy will we play it like this.Jimmy replied Dermot the man that composed that tune if he wanted that to be in it he would have put it in it and Dermot said what coud i say
So do I!
Just have a listen making a comment is pointless your ears are all you need and if your a player like i am keep dteaming
Has anyone info about this composer? i found him because of a meme, i'd like to now his story not as a meme but as a man😊
For the umpteenth time listening this item, again...and first tune is not in my collection, but poorly re-constructing the title springs to mind (partly?)...."Captain Orr Ewing,"....or something? Greatings from the DHHF again.
You were close, Captain Norman. 👍
Its great my gg uncle alexander mcarthur .
Wonderful music makes you feel really good. We used to go to Ingelsides Scottish and Old tome dancing. We played with the orchestra sometimes too great fun.We also enjoyed Scottish Country dancing too.
Hello,Avino...never seen this posting before.Well......it' looks like a homage to Calum McLean, with regard to the first two tunes. Starting with his first tune,of which I forgot the name of this tune. His second one is the Jim McAlistar's Jig.A great tune It occurs more than before, forgetting titles.However.....the music does not leave my brain(thanks Heaven).
as a scottish accordionist ,i remember the good days when james played along with my dads house.in gargunnock.👍well played,.👍
Superb tunes - great band.
Always proud of my fellow guardsmen. Andersen.
The tune here is the Boys of the Mhari L a Kirkcudbright fishing boat lost off the coast of the Isle of Man. The late Ewan McGowan wrote the tune as a tribute to the crew around 1986.
Up there with the very best no matter what the country simply outstanding need i say any more
Ño 1 for me.
Theirs a strong chance your right

Still here tapping away listening to your magic fingers. I am maybe auld but I still tap away with the auld twinkle toes. I used to drum but the arms are not for long distances now as I am in my nineties😝😝
Keep tapping Sandy I'm sure I can hear you
Still here and still tapping away. The only downside is in bed tonight the auld legs pay for my enjoyment, but after a couple of days,🤪😍 I'm at it again. Such is the price for listening to guid all time dance music.
Still at 94, my feet are keeping time tapping away. I miss the auld times playing the drums with the "John McClaren Scottish dance band."
Can you send me and MP3 Verison of this Album?
Download MP3 Downloader from media human
GREAT ALBUM THIS ONE ! You wouldn't happen to have The Royal Clansmen album ' live at the Jubilee Arms ? ' The one with Will Starr singing on it ?
Sorry Graham don't have that album.
Thanks SO much for the upload. Ian sent me this the week it was released. I had it in my hard drive in my old pc and it got wiped. Fabulous to hear it again.
That's so good to know that you got it back. Glad to help you hear it again. Thank you
Great music .Superb band
I worked with Pete Forbes for a number of years, a wonderful man, with amazing stories...he opened my eyes....wonderful musician...used to visit the Foundry Bar in Arbroath...incredible nights...
Callum has composed a great 6/8 by the title of "Jim McAlisters Jig".This one regularly played by the SDB's.

Dermot O'Brien was also a great singer. Rest in peace.
Simply The Best.
Superb playing indeed.
This music was recorded when Scotland was a happy and United country. We will never see or hear the likes again, the country is full of hate and division caused by a certain political party who think they speak for the whole of Scotland. Great music from a great musician.
Excellent many thanks ... _._
Many thanks.
Tunes are - Aros Park, Major Alistair Cunnigham Weir, Dubh Loch Cottage
Colin Dewar was hugely popular in the mid-90s.He produced a series CD's under the title of "Special Requests".Have one of these items.
